The VAT is looking for a talented Territory Account Manager to join our San Jose team. This position is a strategic customer interface to focus accounts and key stakeholders in order to grow VAT business by setting a sound customer strategy while ensuring proper execution. The ideal candidate has a proven record of accomplishment of growing business and strategic thinking with the ability to provide fact-driven proposals to solve complex problems and relate to the bigger picture.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide technical assistance for product selection, promote the entire range of VAT Vacuum valve products, and provide quotes and follow opportunities through to completion at new and existing customers.
Negotiate to price with the goal of achieving the highest possible margins by creating customer value without eroding product price.
Work with new and existing customers to identify and specify value-added opportunities for VAT customized solutions.
Build system roadmaps and work to displace the competition on legacy equipment and attain specification wins on all new system developments.
Manage custom engineering projects and act as the liaison between the customer and the product groups at the VAT Swiss headquarters.
Prospect for new customers generate leads through industry networking, as well as trade shows and web leads.
Prepare annual and quarterly sales forecasts for presentation to VAT management.
Keep abreast of competitor activities and report findings via the MS Dynamics CRM system.
Maintain the integrity of the CRM database and enter all new prospects and opportunities into the system.
Drive sales through a processed based opportunity and quote tracking system based on the VAT CRM system.
Stay abreast of market intelligence and industry trends within the territory. Report findings and subsequent opportunities to VAT US management and the product groups.
50% travel required within the territory and to the VAT Swiss headquarters, as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Technical Degree preferred and/or 3+ years of relevant experience.
Mechanical aptitude, strong interpersonal, time management, analytical and communication skills, create enthusiasm and a positive can-do approach required.
Must have the ability to work in a team environment, work under pressure and adapt to a changing environment.
Ability to effectively present information one-on-one, in small to large groups, to top management, clients, and members of the product team.
Vacuum technology and system architecture knowledge preferred.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer.
Must be currently in the same geographic location or willing to relocate.
Computer skills - proficient with MS Outlook, MS Dynamics CRM, Office applications, WebEx and PowerPoint.
