Description
The HR Generalist role will support the day-to-day HR operations and manage designated tasks or projects within the HR department. This includes talent acquisition efforts, HRIS management, employee on-boarding/off-boarding, training, maintaining employee records, benefits enrollment and all administrative functions associated with these disciplines.
The ideal candidate is well-rounded as well as a team player; he/she will be willing, able, and ready to assist with a variety of projects, demonstrating a flexibility to shift areas of focus as internal needs evolve. Strong communication, organization, follow-up, and a collaborative mindset as well as the capability to work effectively as an individual contributor are all desired characteristics.ResponsibilitiesAssist as directed with talent acquisition efforts; tasks include but may not be limited to coordinating interviews, contacting employment references, reviewing job descriptions, managing job postings, and additional responsibilities based on need.
Ensure completion of pre-employment activities as assigned, including initiation of background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
Assist with on/off boarding of employees, including coordination of start date details along with associated agenda if appropriate, and orientation.
Field inquiries from employees, including general HR and HRIS related questions.
Provide support to management on employee relations matters as needed.
Assist with annual open enrollment.
Assist in the coordination of training programs, ensuring employee compliance.
Provide assistance in the performance appraisal process, including tasks related to goal setting and conducting performance evaluations.
Participate in the implementation of HR policies and procedures.
Assist with implementing HR metrics and reporting.
Participate in regulatory audits and assist in periodic internal audits as needed.
Contribute to employee engagement initiatives and support activities to foster a positive work culture.
Process employment-related transactions including salary, status and LOA changes etc. via HRIS and maintain digital employee personnel files.
Ensure adherence to company policies and compliance with federal/state employment laws and regulatory requirements.
Perform other similar duties as assigned.
Requirements4+ years’ of human resources experience.
1+ years’ of recruitment coordination experience or similar.
At least 1-2 years of managerial experience, preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources or related field.
Understanding of essential HR areas including employee relations, performance management, benefits, talent acquisition, training.
Knowledge of HR best practices and relevant employment laws.
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects.
Highly collaborative and results driven.
Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain a high sense of integrity and confidentiality.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook).
