The Associate Attorney will manage cases with an emphasis on residential real estate litigation, mortgage and transactional matters and protect the client's interest in litigation proceedings and general collection cases.Specific Duties, Activities and ResponsibilitiesMust attend mediations, trials, and hearings, and other duties as assigned.Must be willing and able to travel on an as needed basis.Must be able to work well with all members of the group.Must be willing and able to write articles and make presentations to clients, trade associations.Must be willing and able to participate in marketing initiatives / business development.Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and cases.Assist with other duties and special projects as needed.Job RequirementsBachelor’s Degree with a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.Minimum of five years of litigation/courtroom experience (foreclosure experience a plus).Member of the state Bar while maintaining all necessary licensing and continuing legal education requirements.Subject matter expert in their field.Manage Employees and P&L responsibility.Must be proficient in performing legal research and writing.Must be proficient in taking & defending depositions.Must be proficient in drafting pleadings, briefs, affidavits, discovery, proposed orders, as well as correspondence, memoranda, and opinion letters.Proficiency with Fastcase or Westlaw.Must be well-versed in the rules of evidence, introducing evidence, and civil procedure in both state and federal court.General Competency FactorsDemonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills.
