The Office of Space Weather Observations (SWO) under NESDIS is responsible for advancing space weather observational capabilities to meet NOAA programmatic needs. NOAA's Space Weather Next (SWX) program maintains and extends space weather observations from various vantage points, selected to most efficiently provide comprehensive knowledge of the Sun and the near-Earth space environment needed to protect our technological infrastructure.The Space Weather Ground Services (SWGS) is responsible for comprehensive ground services for all SWX projects, ensuring successful implementation and operation of observing assets and ensuring the continuity of space weather measurements made by SWFO-L1 and the GOES-R series satellites.The SWGS Mission Operations Services (MOS) program must provide a full mission satellite command and control solution to support the L1 Series with two new independently launched observatories.Peraton is seeking to hire an Integration Lead to join this new SWGS-MOS program to define, plan, and coordinate the integration activities of new and modified requirements associated with the modernization of the current Joint Polar Satellite System (SWFO) Low Earth Orbit (LEO) Ground Sustainment Services (SWFO) on-premises systems as they migrate to the cloud. Work with the Group Lead and Systems Engineer to support the full life-cycle development of future infrastructure, product generation, and ground command and control components as they are modernized. Reports to the Modernization Lead. Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. Coordinates with multiple working groups and engineering teams. Ensures requirements and specifications are met. Ensures project/department milestones are met and adhere to approved budgets.This position is contingent on contract award.Serve as the team's Modernization Integration LeadConsult with management, customers, and external contractors regarding the project schedule, resources, plans, designs, and implementationDevelop and maintain integration schedulesOversee, manage, and deconflict resourcesAssist with Program Increment PlanningInterface with Modernization Architect and Cloud providersIdentify risk reduction mitigationsDefine, prioritize, assign, and monitor team tasks, individual workloads and assignmentsProvide oversight in standards, verification, and validation adherenceInteract with customers regarding strategies, requirements, problem solving, and supportCommunicate project status to various levels of managementInterface with management for reach-back supportWork with minimal supervision/guidanceAssist in technical risk/opportunity identificationOccasional CONUS travelQualifications
Active Public Trust clearanceMinimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhDFive years supporting NOAA/NASA systems integrations and architectures.Knowledge of common system integration methods and technologies including Continuous Integration Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).Proven experience in managing relationships with vendors/consultants, team members, and customersEstablished project management skills.Familiar with agile scrum frameworksPeraton Overview
