DescriptionWhat You'll Do:As the

Communications Engineer , you will support P-8A Poseidon avionics development, integration, testing, and retrofit. In this role, you will support NAVAIR's Maritime Patrol and Reconnaissance Aircraft (MPRA) Program (PMA-290) overseeing communication and avionic engineering and technical efforts.

This position is not eligible for daily telework.Responsibilities will include:Engineering tasks include analysis, integration, test, and design of Common Data Link (CDL), HF, HF-IP, V/UHF, UHF/UHF SATCOM, MIDS-JTRS, LINK(s) 11, 16, 22, IBS, ICS, MUOS, and INMARSAT equipment, including all associated hardware, software, and interfacesSupporting RF system Analysis (RF Link Budgets, Co-Site analysis), system evaluation and alternative design recommendations, specification development and review, system interoperability, system re-design/re-configuration, and sustainmentPerforming integrated avionics system/subsystem design maturity assessments, including technical adjudication recommendationsReviewing and preparing engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentationApplying engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test, or evaluate military communications systemsPerforming system integration configuration management, quality assurance testing, and/or acquisition and resource managementLeading TAE/SME coordination for requirements verification, including ground and flight-testing data requirementsContributing to ECP/TD development, approval, and implementation, and to risk/issue identification, mitigation development, and resolution coordinationSupporting production and quality assessments of in-production subsystemsProviding input to monthly reports detailing contract activitiesThe job description is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of duties and responsibilities. It is intended to describe the general nature of the position.RequirementsEducation and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Software, Computer, or Electrical Engineering is preferred. An Associate's degree in a technical area of study is required.Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant Industry, Government, or Active-Duty Military experience is requiredFamiliarity with conduct and products associated with the execution of the Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) processDemonstrated understanding of the process for decomposition and synthesis of design requirementsP-3 Orion or P-8A Poseidon aircraft maintenance and operational experience is preferredExperience with RCCA and FRACAS reviews and DCMA acceptance procedures (including non-conformance acceptance)Configuration Management experience required, must have the ability to analyze, translate, correlate, and implement requirements from multiple systems and customersPrior experience with Tactical Data Links related to development, integration, and/or certification, is idealWho You Are:You are able to establish and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customersYou have professional and effective communication skills, both verbal and writtenYou take a proactive approach to your work and you're able to accomplish tasks with limited guidance and supervisionYou have demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skillsYour organizational skills allow you to manage competing prioritiesASEC is committed to providing access and reasonable accommodation in its services, activities, programs, and employment opportunities in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and other applicable laws.Security Clearance Requirements:This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance. Selected candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.Salary Range:The estimated salary range for this position will be $145,000 - $175,000 annually, based on an individual's level of experience and skill set.
