Role Overview:We are seeking a Graduate Electrical Engineer to join our client's growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in electrical engineering principles and a keen interest in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems. MEP experience is preferred, as it involves designing and coordinating these systems within buildings, ensuring that electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems work together seamlessly to meet the functional requirements of the building.
What is MEP Experience?MEP
stands for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing. MEP engineers specialize in designing and managing the systems that provide power, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, water, and waste management to buildings. For electrical engineers, MEP experience typically includes:
Electrical Systems Design:
Creating and managing the electrical systems that power buildings, including lighting, power distribution, and backup power systems.
Coordination with Mechanical and Plumbing Systems:
Ensuring that the electrical systems are compatible with the mechanical and plumbing systems, avoiding conflicts and ensuring efficiency.
System Integration:
Working with other engineers to integrate various systems within the building, ensuring that they operate harmoniously.
Code Compliance:
Ensuring that all electrical designs comply with local, state, and national building codes and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Electrical Design:
Assist in the design and development of electrical systems for various building projects, ensuring integration with MEP systems.
Technical Support:
Provide support to senior engineers in preparing designs, calculations, and construction documents.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other team members to ensure that electrical designs are coordinated with mechanical and plumbing systems.
Learning and Development:
Engage in continued learning opportunities to expand your knowledge of MEP systems and other relevant engineering disciplines.
Qualifications:
B.S. degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related degree from an ABET-accredited school.
Previous experience through co-op or summer internships in an engineering environment is beneficial.
2-3 years of experience in MEP systems design or related field is preferred.
E.I.T. (Engineer in Training) certification is a plus.
