Job Summary:
The CNC Project Engineer will play a crucial role in managing and executing CNC machining projects from conception through to completion. This position requires a blend of engineering expertise, project management skills, and a deep understanding of CNC processes and technologies. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensure project timelines and budgets are met, and maintain the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage CNC machining projects, ensuring effective planning, execution, and delivery within scope, timeline, and budget.
- Develop and review detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budgets.
- Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to ensure project requirements are clear and met.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for CNC projects, identifying potential challenges and developing mitigation strategies.
- Oversee the programming and setup of CNC machinery, ensuring optimal performance and precision.
- Conduct regular project meetings to provide updates, address issues, and facilitate communication among stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain project documentation, including project plans, reports, and schedules.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and safety protocols throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for CNC equipment and processes as needed.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to CNC machining and engineering.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in CNC machining, project engineering, or a related role.
- Proficiency in CAD software and CNC Programming (SolidWorks and Mastercam preferred).
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control standards (AS9100 and ITAR preferred)
- Proven project management experience, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Experience with root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques (Green or Blackbelt preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
