On-site in Lake Mary, FLPosition Summary:The Controller will play a vital role in ensuring timely and accurate financial close and reporting for the corporate and consolidated results of the Company. This person will collaborate closely with various departments, including finance, operations, HR, and executive management, to enhance financial processes and contribute to the company's success.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:The essential duties of the position include the following, and other duties may be assigned:Overseeing the preparation and distribution of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.Leading the budgeting process and providing forecasts to support strategic planning.Implementing and maintaining effective internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.Ensuring compliance with GAAP, federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation.Coordinating and leading external audits and ensuring the accuracy of all financial information.Overseeing the management of accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payment and collections.Supervising payroll processing and ensuring compliance with multi-state payroll regulations and associated taxation.Ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of general ledger entries and account reconciliations.Providing detailed financial analysis to support decision-making and operational efficiency.Managing and mentoring the finance team to achieve departmental and company goals.Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and systems.Supervisory Responsibilities:NoneQualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.Preferred Qualifications:CPA or pursuing CPA certification.Experience in launching new payroll systems and communicating with employees on expectations of a rollout is preferred.Experience in managing payments owed to 1099 contractors.Experience with financial reporting and compliance in a multi-entity environment.Language Ability:Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write moderately complex correspondence. Ability to effectively converse and present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.Math Ability:Ability to perform complex mathematical calculations, including statistical analysis, and financial modeling. Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data, identify trends, and provide insights. High level of accuracy and attention to detail in handling and analyzing financial data. Ability to use mathematical concepts to solve complex financial problems and make informed decisions.Reasoning Ability:Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret feedback from non-skilled technical system users to uncover the source of problems and persistence to efficiently provide solutions. Extreme attention to detail is required to ensure proper documentation of facts.
