**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN)**Job Specialty:** Step Down**Job Duration:** 13 Weeks**Shift:** Nights, 19:00-07:30**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 or 48 hours per week**Experience:** Minimum 1 year of Step Down inpatient experience**License:** Current RN License eligible for Missouri**Certifications:** BLS and ACLS from AHA only
**Must-Have:**- 1 year of Step Down experience in an inpatient setting- Experience with Trach/Vent as this is a respiratory-heavy unit
**Job Description:**- Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care, ensuring professional accountability.- Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers.- Coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments.- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.- Perform direct patient care activities across all age groups including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.- Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments for optimal care and comfort.- Function according to the nursing practice guidelines and regulations.- Adjust to meet unit-specific physical demands, including standing, walking, lifting, and assisting patients as needed.- High-risk exposure to blood and body fluids.- Work differing schedules or shifts as required by patient care needs.- Engage with patients experiencing respiratory failure, overdose, GI bleed, and other medical conditions.- Exhibit traits like teamwork, dependability, and flexibility.- Adhere to the dress code: black scrubs.
