Senior Category Manager
to join their dynamic team to drive strategic growth and category management.
The
Senior Category Manager
will be responsible for overseeing category growth strategies, analyzing market trends and developing insights to influence decision-making across our client's product portfolio. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep experience in working with syndicated data and a strong understanding of the CPG industry. This is a hybrid role, with the expectation to be onsite three days per week at their Northern Chicagoland office.
Senior Category Manager Responsibilities:
Drive category growth by developing and implementing data-driven strategies aligned with company goals and market trendsUtilize syndicated data (e.g., Nielsen, IRI) to track market trends, competitive performance and consumer behavior to create actionable insights and strategiesWork closely with Sales, Marketing and Product Development teams to align category strategies with product innovations and promotional activitiesBuild and maintain relationships with retail partners to influence category management initiatives, optimize product placement and support joint business planningMonitor and report on category performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and ensuring strategic objectives are metProvide guidance to junior team members and foster a collaborative team environment
Senior Category Manager Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business or related field; MBA preferred8+ years of category management experience in the CPG (food) industryProven experience working with syndicated data sources such as Nielsen, IRI or SPINSStrong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to decision-makingExcellent communication and presentation skills; ability to influence internal and external stakeholdersStrong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environmentFamiliarity with key account management and retailer relationships is a plus
