Litigation Associate Attorney

A law firm seeks a self-driven and independent litigation associate to join its team in Ventura, CA. The position is open to candidates with 0-7 years of experience, offering substantial responsibility over case files, including court appearances and depositions. The firm provides a supportive learning environment with mentorship, offering associates the chance to work on cases from start to finish. Remote work flexibility is available once attorneys are familiar with the firm’s approach and culture.Duties:Manage case files and handle all aspects of litigation from inception through trial, under partner supervision.Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including discovery requests, motions, and reports.Participate in court appearances, depositions, and trials.Engage in client communication and provide updates on case progress.Collaborate with the legal team to develop case strategies.Work in a dynamic environment, with the ability to work remotely as needed.Requirements:0-7 years of experience in civil litigation and/or insurance defense.Strong academic background and work ethic.Excellent verbal advocacy and communication skills.Ability to take depositions and handle various stages of litigation.Willingness to appear in court, participate in depositions, and handle trial work.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Certifications:Active member of the California State Bar.Skills:Strong legal writing and research capabilities.Proficiency in using legal research tools and software.Excellent problem-solving skills and professional demeanor.Ability to manage multiple case files and meet deadlines.Adaptable and comfortable in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.Location:Ventura, CA (On-site with remote work flexibility)This position provides a unique opportunity for attorneys at various experience levels to develop their litigation skills, work directly on cases, and receive mentorship in a supportive, client-centered law firm environment.
