JOB DESCRIPTION
ABOUT THE ROLE:The Senior Project Manager role plays a critical part in delivering high-quality information systems-specific projects using Waterfall methodologies. As a mid-level professional with extensive knowledge and experience in project management principles and information systems leading practices, the incumbent will be responsible for overseeing and managing the execution of various information systems projects. The incumbent in this role will be responsible for identifying project requirements, setting project objectives, and identifying project DT stakeholders. They will work closely with key stakeholders across the organization, including technical teams, business teams, application programmers, and leaders. The incumbent will coordinate work performed by DT stakeholders by defining project requirements, performing feasibility and needs/impact assessments and will work with the team to implement new project management tools and techniques. This role requires expertise in project management and information system methodologies. The incumbent will ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. They will be responsible for ensuring that they have the necessary skills, resources, and support to successfully complete projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
WHAT THE ROLE WILL DO:Develop and maintain project management tasks for internal information systems-specific projects, including project planning, defining requirements, scheduling, tracking, and resource management toolsManage projects from start to finish, ensuring successful completion on schedule, within budget, and with high quality deliverablesEstablish project scope by analyzing project requirements, setting project objectives, and identifying project stakeholdersPrepare and monitor project budgets and monitor project costs in order to ensure cost-effectivenessCoordinate and track work performed by IT project team members to ensure completion on time and within budgetIdentify, track, and manage project risks, issues, changes, and dependencies and escalate as requiredConduct regular project meetings and provide status updates to senior management, key stakeholders, and project sponsors including project status, budget, progress, risks, and scopeDevelop and implement project quality control and quality assurance processesLiaise with technical and business stakeholders to ensure alignment of project goals and objectivesKeep up-to-date with emerging trends and best practices in project management methodologies, information systems, and technologies
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Project Management, or in lieu of a degree, at least 7 years of experience in the field of project management or Information Technology
Preferred
Certified Project Management Professional (PMP), or CAPM
Skills and Experience4-6 years of experience in project management with a focus on information systems (ideally involving network, server, or software implementation and upgrades, and/or PC deployment)Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and techniquesExperience in project planning, scheduling, and budgetingKnowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologiesAbility to work collaboratively with cross-functional teamsIn-depth knowledge of project management tools such as Microsoft Project, JIRA, and ConfluenceExcellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skillsExperience working on projects that utilize shared enterprise systems that follow different release schedules.Technical SkillsSoftware Development Lifecyle (SDLC) MethodologyProject Management MethodologyProject Management ToolsProject Data Analysis & InsightsData ModelingBusiness Requirement Gathering & DocumentationDemand and Capacity PlanningProject Estimation and Budgeting
