Provides management for the planning and implementation of programs and student services sponsored by the Pride Center within the Centers for Student Engagement (CSE). Works with CSE leadership in the development of goals and objectives that support FIU's mission, vision, and strategic goals. Manages university-wide student programs and events as well as hiring, training, and supervising staff. Supports department-wide assessment and reporting functions.Manages the day-to-day operations of the Pride Center, including all program development, marketing, advising student organizations, as well as building and maintaining collaborative relationships and efforts across campuses.Recommends policy and procedure changes to the director. Advises on the development of new policies and strategic planning to enhance the goals of the Division of Academic and Student Affairs.Creates and develops partnerships and maintains collaborative efforts with Student Affairs departments, academic departments, and other operational areas.Represents the Pride Center and Centers for Student Engagement at campus-wide and divisional meetings, committees, and programs, as needed at the discretion of the director.Compiles edits and produces publications, brochures, and newsletters related to LGBTQIA+ programs.Assists with the planning of other Centers for Student Engagement signature events.Works closely with the Centers of Student Engagement director on the Pride Center budget and daily operational responsibilities.Supports and organizes programs that provide LGBTQIA+ awareness, knowledge, visibility, and support such as but not limited to National Coming Out Day, Transgender Day of Visibility, Pride Month, and Day of Silence.Coordinates and facilitates workshops and presentations on behalf of the department and the Division of Academic & Student Affairs to various offices, students, and classes. Develops, implements, and maintains educational, social, support, referral, and resource programs and services for students regarding issues of sexual and gender identities.Manages the program/event learning outcome development and assessment, data analysis, and reporting processes. Prepares and provides periodic assessment reports to the director on programs and initiatives.Supervises professional staff, graduate assistant(s), and student assistant(s), while orienting, training, and providing performance feedback on an on-going basis.Serves as a University card user for departmental transactions. Adheres to University credit card policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate specialization and four (4) years of related experience, or Master's degree in an appropriate specialization and two (2) years related experience.Desired Qualifications
Master's degree in student personnel, higher education administration, counseling, or a related field and at least four (4) years of professional experience working with LGBTQIA+ communities.Considerable knowledge regarding the concerns and issues of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender students is preferred.Experience in working with students from diverse backgrounds.Experience supervising a team or project.Job Category
