OVERVIEW
Merrick & Company is looking for a Scan to BIM Technical Lead for our Greenwood Village (Denver Metro), CO office. This position will lead a group of field scanning crews, direct and contractors, who will capture lidar building scans for a large multi-year project. This position will also have influence in how this lidar scan data is used to create BIM models. The target start date for this position is early-January 2025. We will be conducting interviews in November and December.
Typical annual salary range for this position is $130,000 - $160,000. Pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience WHAT YOU'LL DO
Identify subcontractors to support NavVis VLX field scanning projects. Develop assignment and tracking sheets to facilitate and manage subcontractor field scanning projects. Develop field collection procedures that focus on: Standardized processes to systemize all field collections Utilizing aerial data to control VLX data Capturing data with sufficient quality to develop BIM models Incorporate tracking procedures to help Merrick monitor progress Create process to document the number of square feet captured in the field Provide this information to the project manager in a way that it can be supplied to Client as proof for invoicing Provide technical support for estimating and scoping field scanning projects Understand how to develop Revit models for facilities from terrestrial lidar and/or CAD drawings. Work with Corporate Design Technology team to develop geomatic Revit processes and templates. Provide technical support for estimating and scoping Scan to Revit projects. Execute Revit modeling a portion of the time, but also drive projects at a high level. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Six (6) plus years of remote sensing data acquisition experience. Four (4) plus years of Revit modeling experience One (1) year of NavVis VLX scanning experience. Associate's degree in GIS, engineering or architecture. Expertise with NavVis VLX and IVION software. Experience developing drawings in Autodesk Revit FAA Part 107 Certification. Expertise with UAV data collection and UAV sensor platforms Industry knowledge regarding companies performing high volumes of NavVis VLX scanning. NavVis VLX subcontractor scanning management experience. Must be comfortable developing field collection procedures and documentation specific to project needs. Previous experience developing solutions to field acquisition challenges. Proven experience working with and managing both subcontractors and clients. Must have a well-defined understanding of design and construction document processes. Must have a valid driver's license, a good driving record, and be insurable under Merrick's insurance carrier.
