If you want to make a difference, then Selene is the place for you!Job Title:Senior Default Servicing SpecialistDepartment:Loss MitigationReports To:Closing ManagerFLSA Status:Non-ExemptPosition Summary: The Loss Mitigation Specialist is responsible for overseeing loan modification document preparation and the closing process within the servicing division. The Specialist will assist in various aspects of the Closing Fulfillment area.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Conduct independent reviews of original loan documents (Mortgage, Note, Deed, and Title).Validate the accuracy of workout terms and calculations and ensure proper system(s) documentation matches the loan modification documents.Provides feedback to the Closing Manager or Sr. Management for remediation, process improvement or adjustments to training.Will monitor for and or identify operational deficiencies and opportunities for improvement and will also show processes and trainings that are effective.Clearly communicates to team members on active pipeline.Monitors daily reports for accuracy and maintain process for timeliness of closing documents and system changes.Provides recommendations for procedural changes and improvements as they pertain to the department.Ensures reports are available timely and accurate for monitoring the department's daily performance to ensure that all business objectives are achieved.Maintains high degree of confidentiality.Manages the Mynet queues for closing process.Assists manager or team members as needed in the sub areas of the department such as Front In Doc Check-in, system changes or sending documents to the county for recording or research.Review of LM Reports for exceptions with modifications, implementation or recordation.Competencies: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following.Adaptability - Demonstrates persistence and overcomes obstacles. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education/Experience: Requires a high school diploma or general education degree (GED);Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience and 3+ years prior experience in residential loan servicing including the following: strong and successful background in mortgage loss mitigation closing and default management, bankruptcies and foreclosure loan servicing, borrower contact strategies, and overall loan administration functions throughout the cycle of a loan, including short sales and deed in lieu of foreclosure disposition options with specific knowledge of FHA, VA and USDA government loan products and programs. 2+ years in a Closing role. Language Ability:Read, analyze and interpret business, professional, technical or governmental documents. Write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers and the public.Reasoning Ability:Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.Computer Skills:To perform this job successfully, the candidate should have strong working knowledge of mortgage loan servicing systems, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Visio).Certificates and Licenses:No certifications required.Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
