The Job

Directs and oversees operations within the organization's marketing function.

The Director of Marketing & Advertising is responsible planning and executing a wide range of marketing initiatives including but not limited to direct mail programs, digital marketing, sales collaterals, outdoor advertising, ethnic marketing, event promotions, print, radio, connected and broadcast TV as well as supporting other product campaigns and Sales support efforts. The Director works closely with the Chief Marketing officer (CMO), VP of Product, Sales management, Network management, Duals leadership, Compliance, and other internal clients to understand and participate in the development of marketing objectives, strategies, recommend solutions and deliver the appropriate marketing campaigns within schedule and budget. This includes overseeing the Marketing Managers and support teams in day-to-day project and team management, content contribution, compliance, and asset production. The director will be accountable for driving growth using the full funnel of marketing and will be responsible for both demand generation, consideration, and conversion.

The Director is the day-to-day key point-of-contact to several external advertising, media, digital, and service agencies engaged to fulfill the annual marketing & advertising campaign strategies, overseeing proposed marketing projects through execution, agency direction, budget management and monitoring, and effectively communicating project objectives, deadlines, and results to both internal and external stakeholders.

You Will

Develops and implements marketing plans and campaigns meant to promote the organization or its products and services.

Oversees the production of print, online, or other forms of advertisement, and organizes special events or promotions.

Establishes metrics defining campaign performance; modifies campaigns based on ROI analysis.

Has extensive experience with the concepts and principles of one or more related fields or departments. Leads and directs the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination. Supervision is often provided through a team of subordinate managers. Contributes to strategic planning, direction, and goal setting for the department or function in collaboration with senior management. Establishes departmental policies, practices, and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization.

Contributes strategic input towards the direction of all health plan marketing strategies and efforts. The Director is to deeply understand the organization's product/service mix and to flex and be responsive to changing marketing demands to effectively meet the strategic and growth goals of the organization.

Develops and maintains the annual Marketing & Advertising budget and resulting enrollment forecast for all states/service areas. Provides support to the Regulated Materials budget management in support of overall department budget management. Works with the CMO to navigate budget reallocations and redirection in accordance with fluctuating expense models, changing business needs or budget fluctuations.

Develops and maintains an in-depth set of policies, procedures and programs designed to ensure the effectiveness of the organization's marketing & advertising outcomes and performance.

Provides guidance and assistance to the department CMO and leadership team in the development of the organization's strategic direction, plans and initiatives to achieve and/or exceed the company's growth goals. Demonstrates the SCAN organizational values in performing all responsibilities and in all interactions with stakeholders. The successful candidate will be both analytical and creative and will develop differential growth strategies to lead SCAN's marketing efforts.

Oversees digital marketing including online sales and digital enrollment to meet and exceed targeted digital sales goals. Participates in key corporate events as well as civic events and/or other outside activities consistent with the organization's social interests and supportive of the SCAN mission and growth objectives.

Understands industry and competitive trends and identifies and targets specific new or underserved markets.

Supervises/Manages Others (i.e. hires, performance reviews, corrective action, etc.)

Your QualificationsBachelor's Degree required, or equivalent experience.7-10 years marketing experience with a progressive, consumer-oriented business.Preference will be given to those with previous experience and expertise in aging, mature markets, and/or services for seniors.Previous senior HMO background also desirable, but not required.Strong marketing/advertising orientation with an in-depth understanding of marketing research, performance tracking, advertising, graphic design, and product/new business development.Leadership skills, analytical thinking skills, creativity, oral and written communication skills, planning skills and ability to prioritize.Ability to foster teamwork.Excellent interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal skills, communication skills and presentation skillsProficient in MS Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.What's in it for you?
