Job Responsibilities
Work directly with executive and operational staff to design and validate reports, dashboards, and other data products to improve business.Tune Microsoft SQL Server databases and queries for our data warehouse.Build, monitor, and troubleshoot SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages that move data from and between a variety of sources.Develop and optimize Paginated Reports in SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports or Power BI Premium.Work with other team members to optimize development approaches and team processes.Perform code reviews and evaluate reports and packages for best practices.Contribute to development standards for the team.Coach internal business partners to develop self-service analytics capabilities throughout the organization.Develop Power BI reports and the associated infrastructure, utilizing Power BI Premium and Azure services.Assist in migrating reporting workloads from SQL Server + SSRS to Snowflake + Power BI/Paginated Reports.Influence our strategic roadmap for data engineering, BI, and analytics.Drive quality and reliability throughout our data stack.Other duties as assigned.Other Skills/Abilities
Advanced SQL and Excel skills, familiarity with statistics or other analytical techniques.Knowledge of BI reports and dashboards and ability to design or update reports to meet the needs of business teams.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to coach junior team members and lead group initiatives.Ability to work with non-technical stakeholders to translate business needs into requirements for data solutions.Ability to work on a distributed team with people in multiple time zones and with diverse cultural backgrounds.Ability to plan ahead, test, and make reasoned trade-offs.Ability to work in a high-trust, high-autonomy environment.Meticulous about correctness and the quality of work.Ability to automate to reduce errors and eliminate unnecessary work.Comfortable working in an Agile/Scrum environment.Physical Requirements
Talking, hearing and using hands to operate and install computers.Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.The employee may be required to push, pull, lift or carry up to 60 pounds.Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.Four+ years of relevant professional experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or Analytics Engineer.Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.Experience in data mining (SQL, ETL, data warehouse, etc.) and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets.Certifications & Licenses
