Candidates must reside in the United States.PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITIONThe Senior Business Development Manager (BDM) will be a part of the Arise Energy sales organization. The Senior BDM will be responsible for assisting the Sales Manager in prospecting targeted customers to drive them to the Arise Energy digital customer acquisition platform.Responsibilities will include:Proactive outreach to warm customer leads identified by the Sales Manager.Introducing potential customers to the Arise platform.Supporting our marketing efforts.Networking with potential customers at industry events and leveraging existing market contacts and relationships to drive prospecting and relationship development activities.Provide sales support to existing accounts and potential customers.Arise Energy was founded with the simple mission to make corporate energy purchasing easier. The Sr. BDM will be responsible for thoroughly understanding the Arise Energy platform and be able to clearly articulate the Arise Energy value proposition to various types of prospective customers. The Sr. BDM will be able to clearly articulate the features of the Arise Energy platform and highlight how Arise Energy will solve well known industry challenges.(35%)Identify prospective customers, lead generation and conversion:
The Sr. BDM will build an active pipeline of prospective customers through prospecting activities such as (but not limited to) cold calling/emailing, industry networking, following up on marketing generated leads, and attending industry events. (30%)Pipeline Management:
Sr. BDM will be responsible for managing a pipeline of Arise Energy platform prospective customers and additionally manage a pipeline of prospects that fall outside of the current platform parameters such as natural gas opportunities, managed products, large RFP&rsquos and Constellation Navigator opportunities.Manage the digital customer journey from account setup to contract execution:
The Sr. BDM will proactively engage prospects in the basic steps of the digital customer journey that includes account setup, quote request and response, plan comparison and selection, and contract execution. Sr. BDM will use various web-based meeting tools such as MS Teams and Zoom to guide prospects through the digital journey. (10%)Address and resolve prospective customer questions and concerns:
The Sr. BDM will be responsible for assisting in the resolution of customer issues, concerns and questions during the pre-sales journey. The Sr.BDM will respond to customer inquiries from chat, email, and phone channels. They will identify and classify issues, resolve issues by working closely with internal pricing, technology, and operations teams as well as 3rd party energy suppliers, and track issue resolution through our CRM and service software. The questions and issues may include topics relating to Arise Energy platform functionality, energy price quotes, supplier contracts, and basic energy market analytics. (10%)Digital customers experience process improvement strategies:
Arise Energy is a new and dynamic approach to customer acquisition and self-service energy purchasing. The Sr. BDM will participate in discussions with leadership, digital product team and marketing to offer suggestions and strategies to improve upon existing processes and procedures based on their experiences and perspectives. (10%)MINIMUN QUALIFICATIONS:8+ years of energy industry experience8+ years of experience in a customer facing role, such as sales, sales support, customer service, or account management experience, with an emphasis on outbound customer interactionsAbility to effectively build and maintain relationships with customers and prospects.Highly proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OutlookExceptional written and oral communication skills to function in a team environment and to maintain rapport with employees and customers.Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, problem-solving, and independent decision-making.Flexibility on the job and the ability to juggle multiple competing priorities.Ability to maintain confidentiality of all information alwaysPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Prior experience in outside sales, sales support or customer support for an eCommerce or SAAS platform, highly preferredPrior experience in GTM strategy and/or supporting sales efforts of new productsBachelor&rsquos degreePrior experience in the retail energy industry and/or regulated energy industryPrior experience in using HubSpot or similar CRM and/or Order-to-Cash workflow systemsEnthusiasm for driving change and innovation and experience being a market disruptor, a huge plus
