The ideal candidate will manage a variety of criminal cases, from misdemeanors to felonies, while working closely with clients, law enforcement, and court systems.Duties:Manage criminal defense cases, including misdemeanors and felonies.Request and review discovery materials, and conduct thorough case investigations.Interview law enforcement personnel, witnesses, and other key individuals.Draft, file, and argue pretrial motions effectively in court.Represent clients in trials, ensuring proper defense strategies are implemented.Collaborate with investigators to gather essential case information.Attend court hearings at various levels, including superior, justice, and city courts.Maintain consistent communication with clients to update them on case developments and legal processes.Conduct in-office and telephonic consultations with clients to provide legal advice and strategy.Coordinate with administrative staff to manage case files and ensure efficient workflow.Requirements:Prior experience working at a public defender's office, county/city attorney's office, or a criminal defense law firm in Arizona.Demonstrated ability to handle a diverse caseload of misdemeanor and felony cases.Strong knowledge of Arizona criminal law and court procedures.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Active membership in good standing with the Arizona State Bar.Certifications:Admission to practice law in the state of Arizona.Skills:Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong courtroom presence with trial experience.Ability to work independently and manage a demanding caseload.Proficient in legal research, case analysis, and legal writing.Strong interpersonal skills to maintain professional client relationships.Ability to work collaboratively with investigators, staff, and other legal professionals.Job Location:Tempe, AZ
