Job Summary:
The Executive Director is a leader who oversees day-to-day activities, creates and executes business plans, designs and directs organizational strategy, improves performance, and ensures the financial viability of the organization.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree preferred, high school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of five years Executive Leadership experience.
Minimum of five years experience in substance abuse or mental health field.
Working knowledge of JCAHO standards, levels of care, and crisis intervention.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong relationship building skills.
Ability to listen well and offer solutions.
Outstanding organization and leadership abilities.
Proven experience as executive director or in other managerial position.
Strong understanding of corporate finance and measures of performance.
Experience in developing strategies and plans.
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Strong collaboration skills with the ability to think creatively and share ideas.
Ability to manage time effectively.
Ability to make decisions using sound judgment, data, and advice.
Knowledge of industry and trauma-integrated care.
Current CPR certification or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily operations of the Steamboat Springs location, providing executive direction of all program strategy, compliance, quality assurance, and program efficiency.
Work closely with Executive Team, informing, assessing, and addressing issues that affect the organization.
Develop and implement strategies aiming to promote the organization’s mission.
Create complete business plans for the attainment of goals and objectives set by Executive Team.
Build an effective team of leaders by providing guidance and coaching direct reports.
Identify and implement staffing requirements for efficient operations, maintaining a strong culture and work climate that attracts and retains staff, and drives the organization’s mission.
Ensure adherence of the organization’s daily activities and long-term plans to established policies and legal guidelines.
Forge and maintain relations of trust with shareholders, partners, and external authorities.
Act as representative, building relationships and strengthening the organization’s presence in local communities.
Assess the budget needs of the organization and create financial reports for stakeholders to review.
Devise remedial actions for any identified issues and conduct crisis management when necessary.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working/typing on a computer.
Sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, climb steps, hear, see, speak.
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
Driving in all weather conditions.
