A highly regarded law firm in Metairie, LA, is seeking an experienced Labor and Employment Attorney to join its dynamic team. This position involves providing legal guidance to employers on workplace matters, drafting and reviewing employment policies, and representing clients in employment litigation and regulatory matters. The role offers an opportunity to work on diverse, high-stakes cases while ensuring clients remain compliant with federal and state laws.Duties:Provide legal counsel on workplace investigations and documentation.Draft severance agreements, termination documents, and performance improvement plans.Review and revise employment handbooks, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.Defend clients in employment litigation, including class or collective actions.Represent clients in regulatory complaints involving federal, state, and local employment issues.Conduct wage and hour audits to ensure proper employee classification under labor laws.Ensure compliance with affirmative action requirements and conduct audits of pay equity and hiring practices.Draft and enforce arbitration agreements, non-compete agreements, and non-solicitation provisions.Provide training on employment law matters, including wage compliance, FMLA, and workplace harassment prevention.Conduct due diligence for mergers and acquisitions to identify potential legal risks.Advise clients on WARN Act compliance for layoffs or extended furloughs.Conduct audits of Form I-9 for compliance with federal and state employment authorization requirements.Requirements:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Strong academic credentials, with a preference for candidates who ranked in the top half of their class or participated in law review or moot court.Prior experience in employment law is preferred; familiarity with insurance coverage is a plus.Licensure in multiple states and federal court admissions is advantageous.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable working in a paperless environment.Proven ability to manage and prioritize a large caseload effectively.Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.Highly motivated with the ability to work independently.Education:JD degree from an ABA-accredited law school.Certifications:Admitted to practice law in the State of Louisiana (additional State licensures are beneficial).Skills:Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong legal research and writing abilities.Ability to analyze complex legal issues and develop effective strategies.Highly organized and detail-oriented.Proficiency in using legal research databases and technology.Job Location:Metairie, LACompany infoBCG Attorney Search10777 Westheimer, Suite 1100HoustonTexasUnited States 77042Phone :
