Job Overview:

An established law firm in Omaha, NE is seeking an experienced Labor & Employment Attorney with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. The successful candidate will play a critical role in advising and representing employers in various labor and employment matters, including litigation, compliance, and regulatory guidance. Omaha, NEDuties:Defend and litigate employment-related lawsuits in federal and state courts, including conducting jury trials.Provide legal counsel to employers on compliance with state and federal labor and employment laws and regulations.Draft and revise employment policies, handbooks, contracts, and separation agreements to ensure legal compliance.Conduct internal investigations or audits for clients, offering risk management solutions to prevent future legal issues.Advise clients on compliance with occupational health and safety laws, assist with investigations, and defend against safety-related citations and lawsuits.Develop strategies for maintaining union-free workplaces and provide guidance to unionized employers on labor relations and union issues.Lead collective bargaining negotiations and represent employers in union grievances and arbitrations.Requirements:Minimum of 10 years of experience in labor and employment law.In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal labor and employment laws, including wage and hour laws, anti-discrimination, anti-retaliation, and workplace safety regulations.Strong experience in litigation, including trial experience in federal and state courts.Ability to provide proactive regulatory guidance and risk management advice to clients.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Certifications:Licensed to practice law in Nebraska, or eligibility for admission.Skills:Expertise in labor and employment law, including regulatory compliance and litigation.Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.Client-focused approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality legal services.Ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative and responsibility in handling cases.
