A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney to join its bankruptcy practice in San Diego, CA. This role involves managing Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases, from client appointments to court appearances. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment with both autonomy and collaboration. Training and on-the-job support will be provided, with a preference for candidates who have experience or a strong interest in bankruptcy law.Duties:
Prepare and review legal documents related to bankruptcy cases, including Bankruptcy Schedules.Conduct client meetings to finalize and sign schedules for filing.Draft correspondences, legal research, and other documents as needed.Respond to client inquiries via phone and email, providing clear guidance and updates.Attend court hearings and 341(a) meetings of creditors, representing clients as required.Collaborate with the Trustee’s office and creditors on legal issues, engaging in negotiation and litigation as needed.Focus on Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases, including means testing and drafting plans of reorganization.Requirements:
Ability to manage client interactions professionally and handle multiple tasks efficiently.Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for client communication and case management.Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Skills:
Proficiency in legal research and document preparation.Strong client service skills, with the ability to communicate complex information in an accessible manner.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.Quick learning ability for candidates new to bankruptcy law, with on-the-job training available.
