Job Overview A highly respected law firm in Seattle, WA is seeking an experienced Senior Family Law Attorney to join its dynamic team. This position offers the opportunity to lead legal cases, provide guidance to junior associates, and contribute to the success of the firm through client representation and strategic case management. The ideal candidate will have a decade of legal experience, including courtroom representation, and a deep understanding of family law in Washington State. Duties Represent clients in family law matters, including trials, mediation, and arbitration. Develop comprehensive legal strategies tailored to each client's unique needs and case specifics. Conduct client consultations to assess legal issues and provide guidance on the next steps. Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, motions, notices, and discovery requests/responses. Argue motions and represent clients in court during hearings and legal proceedings. Maintain ongoing communication with clients, providing regular updates on case developments and timelines. Lead a team of legal professionals, including paralegals and legal assistants, ensuring collaboration and case success. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior associates and legal staff, fostering a learning and growth-oriented environment. Stay current on relevant state, local, and federal laws, particularly as they pertain to family law. Collaborate with other attorneys within the firm to develop case strategies and discuss best practices. Requirements A minimum of 10 years of experience as a family law attorney. Proven courtroom experience, including trial, mediation, and arbitration representation. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team of legal professionals. Experience handling a high volume of cases with minimal supervision. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail. Education Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Certifications Active Washington State Bar License. Member of State and Local Bar Associations in good standing. Skills In-depth knowledge of family law, specifically in Washington State. Ability to navigate complex legal issues and provide strategic advice to clients. Strong negotiation skills for mediation and settlement discussions. Excellent case management and organizational abilities. A high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
