As the Head of Federal Government Sales you will lead the strategy, execution, and delivering on our growth ambition for our federal customers. Your deep understanding of the federal procurement process, a well-established network within government sectors, combined with your passion for delivering results, will be essential in shaping our success.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership
Lead a small but high-performing federal sales team, ensuring strong alignment with organizational goals and culture.
Build credibility as the expert within EXA as it relates to how we serve and support our Federal customers, ensuring buy-in from key stakeholders.
Be a visible leader at industry events, participating in panels and seeking opportunities to promote EXA’s brand within government.
Business Development
Develop and execute sales strategies (including driving prospecting initiatives), designed to win new government contracts and expand EXA’s footprint in the public sector.
Create and manage tailored account development plans designed to achieve and exceed sales objectives in the public sector.
Maintain a robust pipeline of forecasted government sales to meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and revenue targets.
Client Relationship Management
Cultivate and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders across federal agencies, including DOD, DHS, and other civilian agencies.
Serve as a trusted advisor to federal customers and partners, addressing their unique challenges and positioning EXA as a trusted partner for infrastructure and communication solutions.
Contracting and Compliance
Oversee the federal procurement lifecycle, including RFPs, RFQs, IDIQs, GWACs, and BPAs, ensuring compliance with government regulations and standards.
Partner with internal legal and compliance teams to manage risk and navigate contracting procedures.
Maintain current knowledge of federal policies, contracting vehicles, and industry standards to ensure compliance and capitalize on procurement trends.
Individual Profile
Proven track record in government sector sales, with a deep understanding of government procurement processes, regulatory requirements, and public-sector priorities.
Demonstrated experience in driving business growth, with a focus on acquiring new government contracts and fostering long-term relationships with public sector clients.
Strong knowledge of the infrastructure and communication needs of government agencies, with the ability to craft solutions that address those needs effectively.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior government officials and decision-makers.
Strong presentation skills, with the ability to deliver compelling pitches and proposals tailored to government needs.
Experience navigating and complying with government RFP processes and other public procurement regulations.
