HealthPartners is hiring an Manger of Accounting. This role manages and supports the accounting activities of HealthPartners and its broad family of companies. This position manages a team of accountants and supports them in all accounting activities as assigned. This includes the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, account analysis, process improvement and supporting finance leadership. This position will also provide support to various regular audits of financial information including the annual GAAP and statutory financial statement audits. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination: BA/BS in Accounting 6-8 years of experience in Finance/Accounting 3-4 years supervisory experience in Accounting Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Working knowledge in accounting methods and techniques according to General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) rulings Knowledge of automated accounting systems Strong analytical, written and communication skills Ability to organize and delegate work efficiently. Ability to work independently and effectively under tight deadlines. Ability to be flexible and adjust quickly to changing priorities. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Accounting in Healthcare environment Knowledge of financial systems including Oracle Fusion and business intelligence tools. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 20 % Lead and manage day to day operation of accounting team 30 % Manages and analyzes monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for internal reporting. Reviews journal entry preparation Reviews ledger posting to ensure accuracy and timely closing Reviews financial information for HealthPartners to ensure accuracy of internal reporting Supports external audits of HealthPartners Identifies and communicates problem areas which may affect financial performance of HealthPartners. Resolves issues as appropriate 10% Communicates and works with other departments in HealthPartners to solve cross functional issues and identify opportunities for process improvement. 15% Work closely with leadership to develop, recommend, and establish strategies, plans and processes to improve financial management, maximize revenue and achieve cost efficiencies. 15% Develops and improves the internal and external financial reports of HealthPartners. Continues to seek new ideas to help internal and external customers understand our financial performance Keeps current with changes in General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to ensure HealthPartners is complying with accounting standards. 10% Assists Finance leadership in other financial analysis and projects as requested: Forecasting financial results. Financial statements. Budget preparation and variance reporting. Other duties as requested by management.
