Job Location80% remote, 20% on-siteMajority of time spent at home or in Salinas, CAOccasional travel to be reimbursed at standard rates for far tripsSummaryJoin our team as an Operations Field Engineer, where you will play a crucial role in installing, maintaining, and repairing telecommunications equipment and networks. This position offers the opportunity to work in diverse environments, leveraging your technical expertise and problem-solving skills to ensure seamless network operations. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in telecom, particularly wireless, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.Key Technical Skills3 to 5 years of hands-on technical skillsBackground in telecom, particularly wireless, with an understanding of cell site or wireless installation operationsFamiliarity with basic RF principlesBasic understanding of site construction, from blueprints to final productAbility to act as on-ground support for network and equipment operationsStrong proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 suite of toolsKey ResponsibilitiesInstall, maintain, and repair telecommunications equipment, including fiber optic cables, copper cables, switches, routers, and modemsConduct site surveys to assess network and construction requirementsTroubleshoot and resolve network problems, including service interruptions and equipment failuresPerform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning equipment, checking connections, and updating softwareAssist in the installation and configuration of new network equipmentAdhere to all safety regulations and procedures while working in the fieldProvide technical support to customers and end-usersDocument all work performed and maintain accurate recordsRequired Certifications/EducationHigh school diploma or equivalentIndustry telecommunications certifications preferredAdditional RequirementsPossess basic hand tools, including screwdrivers, nut drivers, wire cutters/strippers, multi-meter, etc.Valid driver's licenseExperience with Microwave hardware, assembly, installation, and decommissioning is a plusBasic theoretical knowledge of RF principlesGeneral knowledge of telecommunications CRM/DatabasesKnowledge of various telecommunications protocols (e.g., TCP/IP)Experience implementing wireless networksFamiliarity with industry-specific software applicationsPhysical Demands/Work EnvironmentFrequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and crouchingAbility to lift and carry heavy equipmentAbility to perform certain job tasks using a 6 ladderPrimarily outdoor work, with occasional indoor workExpected to attend certain meetings and be customer-facingExposure to various environmental factors, including noise, vibration, and varying climates
