The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of experience in trusts and estates law, working within a dynamic and collaborative team. This role involves providing comprehensive legal services to high-net-worth individuals, families, and businesses, focusing on estate planning, trust administration, and probate matters.Duties:
Provide expert legal advice in estate planning, trust administration, and probate-related matters.Draft, review, and finalize estate planning documents such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives.Counsel clients on strategies to minimize estate taxes and safeguard assets.Manage the administration of estates and trusts, including asset distribution, document preparation, and dispute resolution.Conduct legal research and keep abreast of developments in estate planning, tax law, and probate law.Collaborate with financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals to create comprehensive estate plans.Represent clients in court during probate and trust administration disputes.Maintain strong relationships with clients through effective communication and tailored legal strategies.Requirements:
4-6 years of experience as a Trusts and Estates Attorney.Proficiency in drafting a wide variety of estate planning documents and handling complex trust and estate administration.Strong experience with estate, gift, and fiduciary income tax returns.Proven experience representing fiduciaries and beneficiaries in probate court proceedings.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work closely with clients.Education:
J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.Certifications:
Active membership in good standing with the Connecticut Bar.Admission to the Bars of New York and/or Massachusetts is preferred.Skills:
Advanced knowledge of estate planning and probate law.Strong client relationship-building abilities.Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.Proficiency in legal research and analysis.Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
