The DFD will be responsible for leading all philanthropic work across the organization, including annual campaigns, special events, major gifts, grants, donor recognition, and communication.Essential Functions:Supervises all aspects of fundraising providing oversight and management of the development program in the following areas: individual giving, major gifts, corporate giving and sponsorships, foundations, board giving, grant writing, volunteer recruitment, and fundraising/donor events.Develops organizational goals and strategic plans for fundraising, balancing long-term direction and short-term requirements. Develops systems and manages resources, including the financial development budget needed to carry out the fundraising plans.Plan, coordinate, manage, upgrade, and strengthen the annual campaign with emphasis on developing a larger donor and volunteer base, increasing volunteer confidence, and developing a case for support.Engage, cultivate, solicit, and steward new and existing donors with an emphasis on key major gift donors and prospects for all levels of giving.Uses prospect research tools and the Y’s donor database to build and monitor donor relationships.Solicits contributions on behalf of the organization. Tracks all gifts and pledges by source and purpose and provides reports as needed, including timelines, objectives, and measurements.Develops and manages the Y’s donor recognition process, ensuring that all follow approved practices, including prospect identification, donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship in partnership with the Board of Directors, the CEO, and the leadership team. Advises and leads donor recognition strategies.Annually evaluates the performance of fundraising volunteers, providing recommendations, strategies, identifying trends, and best practices to recruit and retain board members and volunteers in fundraising.Works with the marketing team to promote giving opportunities via website, mailing, and social media tools.Provides oversight and direction to event specialists, other staff, and volunteers on the management and planning of fundraising/donor events including a golf tournament, Promenade, and other donor events.Qualifications:Four or more years of proven fundraising experience and/or special events.Experience in all aspects of fundraising, including: annual campaigns, major gifts, grant writing, online giving, special events, capital campaign, donor recognition, and retention.Proven successful experiences in financial development with a track record of effective influencing skills.Must have demonstrated success in working effectively with business leaders, community officials, volunteers, volunteer committees, board members, and colleagues on the management team.A high level of interpersonal skills to effectively relate and motivate volunteers and staff to achieve financial development goals and objectives, as well as a high level of organizational skills is required.Strong oral and writing communication skills, planning and project management capability, and a welcoming, enthusiastic presence.Proven experience in cultivating and soliciting leadership level/major gifts.Strong computer skills with the ability to research and analyze data, set an annual fundraising plan that aligns with the budget. Detailed and thorough in analysis, assessment, and developing a course of action.
