Summary and Overall Purpose of Job:
One of Washington Representative office’s key function is to provide effective and timely intelligence to HO and regional executives on relevant policy, activities and pronouncements by key U.S. officials. With the evolving U.S. political landscape, the intelligence the Washington Representative Office holds extend to interests and strategy impacting that of our clients.
This position is responsible for supporting the manager of the team by planning and implementing strategic engagements of the Washington Representative Office.
One key factor will be to strengthen engagement with Japanese clients/external stakeholders and provide reports/background on their key interests. These stakeholders include Japanese corporate, officials and non-government organizations to gather intelligence in a timely manner.

Strategic Planning
Understand MUFG’s advocacy strategy and perform as a supporting function of senior management visits to Washington DC, including but not limited to preparing various meetings and responding to request from Head Office in Tokyo, Japan requests and others.
JCB
Support
Analyze Japanese Corporate Banking “JCB” business dynamically on its business culture, external environment, client portfolio and other areas
Provide high level reports of key initiatives driven by the government that are of interest to JCB clients.
Engage with JCB clients and participate in events hosted by various trade associations and provide a thorough readout both in Japanese and English.
Other
Drive various global and regional projects as part of the project management team through partnership with various stakeholders including climate change and other key agenda.
Performs other duties as assigned by Manager or by Head of JCB for the Americas.
Qualifications:
Must be very fluent bothin English & Japanese in writing, reading, speaking, and listening
Bachelor’s degree or above in finance, economics, business administration or in a related field, or equivalent working experience is required.
10+ years of experience in corporate strategy and project management in global large corporations or financial institutions.
A team player with excellent both in written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills.
Excellent computer skills (including MS Office applications), analytical skills and knowledges, data management skills are required.
Must be able to work independently under time pressure and multi-task.
The typical base pay range for this role is between $149K - $180K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
