The Department of Psychiatry at Indiana University School of Medicine is committed to understanding the symptoms and neurobiological basis of mental illness and advancing psychiatric treatments through extensive involvement in basic and clinical research and patient care. Job Summary

Department-Specific ResponsibilitiesMaintains accreditation and compliance with accreditation guidelines and initiates appropriate reporting regarding accreditation matters for the Post Pediatric Portal Residency Program.Provides direction, leadership and day-to-day management of educational and departmental activities including educational coordination between attending physicians, residents and institutional and regulatory administrative offices.Assists Program Director and faculty in the development of program curriculum, including integration and evaluation of core competencies into all educational activities.Manages all aspects of resident recruitment, including review all applications; create and update brochures and websites; schedule interviews and coordinate pre-interview meetings and interview day activities.Serves as a member of, develops agendas, takes minutes, and implements decisions and actions for residency committees.Responsible for collaborating with IUSM statewide Psychiatry Education Coordinators as well as working directly with the Statewide Director of Psychiatry Medical Student Education.Serves as Psychiatry point of contact for medical students.Maintains resources/site for students and faculty via Canvas.Responsible for all aspects of student scheduling including lectures and exams and ensures evaluations and grades are completed in a timely manner for the Indianapolis Psychiatry Clerkship.General Responsibilities

Provides administrative support to the department, such as managing calendars, answering phone calls, creating routine and confidential correspondence, drafting reports and presentations, and arranging meetings and conferences.Schedules rotations and clinic hours for members, and may arrange extracurricular activities.Counsels current and incoming residents on administrative issues such as scheduling, rotation requirements, benefits, and leave.Coordinates activities related to recruitment, including events, screening, interviewing, reference checks, and orientation for candidates.Maintains ongoing documentation with respect to accuracy, confidentiality, and accessibility.Implements program improvement projects from initiation to execution.Offers recommendations to improve program administration and/or the overall quality of care.Participates in the planning and development of academic and clinical requirements to ensure that all accreditation standards are maintained.Qualifications

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus.
