A leading California-based law firm specializing in consumer protection and Lemon Law litigation is seeking an Entry-Level Associate Attorney for its Newport Beach, California office. This position provides an excellent opportunity for a junior attorney to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of litigation, including discovery, law & motion work, oral arguments, and trial preparation. The ideal candidate will have 6 months to 3 years of litigation experience and a passion for advocating on behalf of consumers.Location:
Newport Beach, CADuties:
Draft written discovery requests and responses.Review document productions and participate in e-discovery.Draft responses to discovery requests for consumer clients.Law & Motion Work:Draft motions related to discovery disputes.Respond to pleading challenges.Prepare for and participate in oral arguments, case management conferences, and ex parte requests.Depositions:Attend and defend depositions of consumer clients.Take depositions of percipient witnesses.Vehicle Inspections:Attend vehicle inspections with expert witnesses.Other Responsibilities:Ensure timely reporting and billing for hours worked.Opportunities to assist with dispositive motions, complex depositions, and trial preparation.Assist with additional tasks as assigned by partners.Requirements:
Minimum of 6 months of litigation experience as a California-licensed attorney.Strong interest in consumer protection and litigation.Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Willingness to travel within California for court appearances, vehicle inspections, and depositions.Ability to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.Certifications:
Active member in good standing with the California Bar.Skills:
Excellent written and oral communication skills.Proficient in MS Office, Westlaw, and Outlook.Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.Problem-solving skills and ability to navigate complex legal issues.Willingness to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.Bilingual in Spanish (preferred but not required).
