Jump into your next challenge in implementing waste education programs within the Town of Cambridge. This role focuses on programs that facilitate environmentally sustainable outcomes associated with better resource recovery and waste management practices, with a focus on design, delivery, and communications. In collaboration with the waste team, this role assists and liaises with a diverse range of external stakeholders on waste matters and presents workshops as a part of the Town’s community education program on waste reduction and minimisation. Additionally, they assist in contract administration, monitor waste collection data, complete reports, and respond to ratepayer inquiries while maintaining the waste management database and ensuring service standards are met.Selection Criteria

The successful candidate’s core values will mirror the Town’s values of Friendly and helpful, Teamwork, Creativity, Integrity, and Respect, and be able to demonstrate the following:Tertiary qualifications in environmental science, waste management, education or equivalent, AND/OR previous relevant experience in a local government environment as well as experience using TechnologyOne will be highly regarded.Knowledge and practical experience in administering the Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery Act 2007 (WA) and other legislation/strategies relevant to the waste industry.Experience in the design, delivery and evaluation of community education sessions, and the development of education resources and promotional material for digital and print.Contract administration skills including the ability to monitor contract performance.Strong business acumen and demonstrated ability to establish, develop and maintain new systems and strategies.Excellent planning, organisational and teamwork skills including demonstrated ability to prioritise competing demands and meet deadlines.Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with proven ability to liaise with diverse stakeholders and influence to gain cooperation and support.High-level computer literacy and organisational skills including the ability to manage competing priorities.Ability to identify, take ownership and develop ideas to their successful completion.Why work for Town of Cambridge
