(pro-rata for part-time) inclusive of salary, superannuation, housing and district allowances (if eligible) is available to the successful candidate, depending on experience, skills and qualifications.Reports to: Library & Services Programs CoordinatorAs the Early Years Project Officer, your primary responsibility will be to develop, co-plan, and facilitate early years programs tailored for families with children aged 0-5 years. You’ll work closely with community stakeholders to design programs that foster language development, cognitive skills, and emotional growth in young children. You’ll also be engaging with various teams and agencies to ensure these programs are effective and culturally appropriate for the local community.This position will also focus on developing and maintaining a partnership with the Gascoyne Early Years Network (GEYN) to support continuity of the group and the expansion of GEYN operations. This is a part-time role and you will be working 22.5 hours per week (0.6 FTE).This is a fixed term positionKey responsibilities of the role include:

Demonstrate successful leadership through the application of the Shire's core values by promoting a work culture of sustainability, quality improvement, efficiency, and excellent customer service that corresponds to our Code of Conduct and Customer Service Charter.A commitment to a safe work environment and WHS legislation, policy, and processes.Ensure compliance with the Local Government Act (WA) 1995 and any relevant legislation.Support operational processes that deliver the corporate customer service standards of high performance, including timelines, accuracy, and consistency, through a commitment to continuous improvement.A commitment to fostering a positive team spirit within the Library and the Shire.Actively engage with the Gascoyne Early Years Network to support continuity of the group and the development and delivery of outreach programs throughout the year.In collaboration with community stakeholders, co-plan and deliver outreach programs to families aged 0-5 years with an emphasis on developing language and cognitive skills and emotional maturity of young children in the Shire of Carnarvon.Undertake administrative tasks related to the role, including liaising with and reporting outcomes to representatives of the project committee.Support library operational duties, as required, including customer service delivery, regular library programs/events with an emphasis on children participants.Undertake other duties as directed.Work, Health & Safety Responsibilities

Highly developed ability to uphold a values-based approach in the workplace.Highly effective communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.Well-developed time management and organisational skills.Comprehensive computer and administrative skills with the capacity to adapt to new technologies and software.Demonstrated ability in the planning, promotion and delivery of high quality, creative and innovative children's services programs and events.Flexibility to work rostered hours according to operational requirements, including some weekend work.Relevant tertiary qualification in Education or Community Services and/or experience in a similar role.Organisation skills, with the ability to prioritise competing tasks.Previous experience in a similar role.Licenses, Registrations, Memberships or Qualifications required of the role:

Current Western Australia Driver's License.Working with Children's Check.Pre-employment screening required for this role:

The successful applicant will join the Community & Cultural Development Team with a starting salary from

$86,349.29
