The Community Engagement Officer will help build a community of active ocean defenders in Perth and inspire our WA community to actively support ocean conservation for the incredibly biodiverse Western Australian coastal and marine environment. You will be part of a strong team culture of experimentation, evaluation and learning to build community engagement to support conservation of the State’s world-class marine environments and its extraordinary wildlife; in places like Exmouth Gulf, Ningaloo, and to tackle climate change with greater commitment.THIS ROLE INVOLVES:

Scope, organise and facilitate community engagement initiatives, such as market stalls and other events.Liaise with and engage diverse stakeholder groups.Recruiting, inspiring, and retaining volunteers to actively engage in on-ground activities to support campaign objectives, including stalls, events, phone banking, door-knocking, and MP meetings (with appropriate support).Undertake general merchandise administration and distribution, including posting orders.Collaborate on developing and delivering supporter communications.
