JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to and working in close collaboration with the Executive Director, the Development Director will design and execute on a comprehensive development strategy for TRNC. The Development Director will form and manage TRNC's development team, overseeing and executing the agency's annual fundraising efforts.

The Richmond Neighborhood Center (TRNC) is a 44 year-old anchor institution that touches the lives of thousands of Richmond District residents every day through food security programming, cultural events, and school-based programs. The agency has a proven track record of resource development from government sources ($6.2M), fee-based programming ($1.6M), and in-kind contributions ($3.5M). However, despite tremendous fundraising potential and decades of community good will, TRNC's fund development efforts are in their early stages of development. We are seeking a seasoned fundraising professional to join our team and cultivate the skills, systems, and culture capable of unlocking our fundraising potential and inspiring donors to support our important mission.
In the first 90 days, this position should be able to produce an evidence-based, thoughtfully planned model for cultivating individual and major gifts, particularly tapping into the giving potential among volunteers and Richmond district neighbors. Components of this plan include KPIs and benchmarks, new sources of revenue, data management accountability, solicitation schedules, visually stunning marketing materials, and implementing fresh event ideas.
RESPONSIBILITIES:Strategy Development:
Work with the Executive Director, board, senior leaders, consultants and other stakeholders to identify funding needs, preferred funding targets, and approaches. Identifies top priorities and best practices for raising capital and securing new sources of revenue to advance our mission.Performance Management:
Evaluates agency fundraising activities, providing data-driven insights regarding fundraising strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, and implementing continuous quality improvement cycle. Establishes benchmarks and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that track and help communicate progress toward optimizing the agency's fundraising performance.Plan Implementation:
Directs annual fundraising work plan implementation, ensuring the creation of a clear purpose, task/people assignment, and solicitation schedule, following up with deadlines and completion.People Management:
Recruits, trains, and supervises fundraising staff, volunteers, and consultants, fostering a collaborative and motivated team environment.Data Management & Administration:
Oversees fundraising data management, ensuring accurate and timely recording of donations, gift acknowledgement, and fiscal reconciliation.Communications & Marketing:
Align marketing and communications strategies in support of strategy efforts.Qualifications
