Job Description:
The UF Health Cancer Center is the 72nd NCI designated cancer center and the only one at a public university in the State of Florida. As a matrix cancer center, we span 11 of the University of Florida's 16 colleges, pulling together a world-class, multi-disciplinary membership of over 330 faculty and 150 staff to address the challenges of the cancer burden faced by the population we serve as we work together to find a cure.
As a Mobile Connector Driver for the UFHCC, you will be responsible for operating the Mobile Cancer Screening Connector, a 40-foot-long mobile cancer screening bus offering 3-D mammography services as well as cervical, colon, and prostate cancer screenings. As a member of the Cancer Screening & Care Navigation division, you will work closely with the Mobile Unit Administrator and Clinical-Community Navigators and be ultimately responsible for driving the Connector to events, setting up, and returning the Connector post-event. This role is also responsible for assisting with and supporting ongoing maintenance and safety checks for the Connector.
Employees in these roles operate as part of our community outreach and engagement efforts and are fundamental to the progress of cancer care and community initiatives across our catchment area. A complete job description will be provided to candidates selected for interview.
Expected Salary:
$17.50 - $18.50, hourly
Minimum Requirements:
Completion of ninth grade and One (1) year of relevant experience. Classified Driver License (CDL) required based on the type of vehicle operated.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge/Experience:
Experience operating large motor vehicles, with experience as a CDL operator highly preferred.
Knowledge and ability to recognize need for any vehicle maintenance.
Knowledge of UF campus parking and transportation rules and regulations.
Qualities:
Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also be extremely effective, independent, interact professionally, and utilize effective writing and organizational skills.
Demonstrate understanding and effective use of Emotional Intelligence strategies and skills.
Skills/Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders and critical staff, both internally and externally, through a variety of communication mediums and venues.
Safe driving record.
