The intern will gain significant knowledge in the logistics industry and gain real-world business experience and skills that will prepare them for their future career. This role will learn how to ensure accurate load information, on-time shipments, and sufficient equipment availability, while maintaining high data integrity and providing timely communication to meet service requirements and exceed customer expectations.Responsibilities
Shadow experienced professionals to gain insights into the industry and company operations.Confirm driver routing for expirations, maintenance and other scheduled items to ensure efficient utilization.Ensure understanding of load requirements on orders.Assist in the reporting of operations metrics to key stakeholders.Collaborate cross functionally with other department to achieve mutual goals.Supports interactions with professional drivers over the phone and through other communication channels.Obtain an understanding of transportation management software and how its use is integral to the operation.QualificationsAbility to take verbal/written instruction and execute with confidenceKnowledge of Microsoft Office suiteAttention to detailAbility to work independently and as a team when needed.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Customer service skills.High School diploma or equivalent required.Pursuing higher education in business administration, supply chain or similar field required. Junior or Senior year preferredPrior customer service experience a plusCompetitive CompensationCovenant’s compensation philosophy’s intent is to use a competitive total compensation strategy to determine the current market value of a position while also considering individual factors such as performance in current position, time in seat of current position, experience, level of responsibility/accountability, and longevity with the company.
