Nunes Company, Inc. has an immediate full-time position for an Assistant Ag Operations Manager. This is an excellent opportunity to join a large industry leading Salinas-based, grower-shipper.The Assistant Ag Operations Manager is responsible for managing and maintaining agriculture equipment, operations and various functions needed for our growing and shipping operations in Salinas, CA. Ag equipment includes transplantors, plantors, spray equipment and automated thinners.The intended growth path for this position would be to work up to the Ag Operations Manager.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following as well as other duties and responsibilities, which may be assigned.Manages labor necessary for growing and operations functions including farm labor contractor relationships.Manages paperwork relating to reviewing and approving timesheets and invoices.Understands wage and hour compliance such as timely meal and rest breaks, overtime pay, etc.Understands food and industrial safety and is mindful of both when out in the fields.Understands organics including regulatory issues.Manages asset tracking for operational equipment.Works weekends.Ability to travelOTHER QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
General farming knowledge.Supervisor/Management experience.Bilingual English/Spanish.Bachelor's degree in Agriculture or related field.Strong interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively in a fast-paced environment.Displays excellent written communication skills.Consistently demonstrates thoroughness and dependability.Self-starter who can work under minimum supervision.Displays strong work ethic.Must possess a current valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record.Proficiency with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel, Outlook and Word)PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
