We are currently seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Analyst III to join our team. This role is instrumental in ensuring the integrity and quality of our software through comprehensive testing methodologies. The successful candidate will engage in various phases of test management including planning, execution, and closing of tests, as well as hands-on technical activities like test data management and provisioning.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Regularly assess the progress of testing against the initial plan, making necessary adjustments and providing status updates.Develop scripts for setting up application data and generating data files/message streams for testing, ensuring data cleanliness and integrity.Assist in software deployments, ensuring proper build verification, and troubleshooting deployment issues.Translate testing objectives into specific test conditions and cases, drawing from documented requirements, software architecture, and data flows. Focus on detailed test design using both structural and dynamic techniques.Organize test procedures, configure test environments, manage test data, and conduct tests, focusing on database components and system functionality. Facilitate acceptance testing with stakeholders and maintain alignment with database model changes across environments.Analyze test outcomes in comparison to set objectives, detailing specific tasks, and deliverables at the team or project level.Develop strategic and tactical testing objectives for various test levels including component, integration, system, and acceptance tests. Collaborate with software developers, project managers, and stakeholders to establish a tailored testing strategy, emphasizing risk-based testing approaches.Identify necessary test data, analyzing inputs including electronic files and user input variations, to support defined test cases, focusing on error and boundary conditions.Become the go-to expert for understanding the role of database objects within the system, their business relevance, and underlying rules.
QUALIFICATIONSRequired Skills:
Minimum of 7 years in a quality assurance or testing role.Proficient understanding of Oracle RDBMS and SQL.Demonstrated customer and business-centric approach.Excellent communication skills.Experience across multiple Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies including Waterfall and Agile.Highly energetic, positive, and solution-oriented individual.Experience in large team environments, handling projects with varied business stakeholders.Experience with test-driven or behavior-driven development.Expertise in defining test strategies/approaches and in crafting test cases.In-depth knowledge of testing methodologies and developing testing artifacts.Desired Skills:
Proficient in navigating a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) or Web Services setting.Competent in scripting with relevant programming languages, including but not limited to PL/SQL, Python, UNIX Shell, JavaScript, Perl, Ruby, HTML, DHTML, SOAP, XML, JCL, CICS.Familiarity with iterative development frameworks, with a preference for those experienced in SCRUM.Background in software development or architectural roles.Demonstrated capability in utilizing Xray for Jira or similar test management tools.Hands-on experience with database manipulation, including the ability to craft complex SQL queries and perform sophisticated joins.Skilled in leveraging automated testing instruments such as SOAPUI, Cucumber, and Selenium.Proficient in using defect tracking systems, with a strong preference for Jira.Experienced in working with and evaluating logical data models.
