The candidate will be responsible to develop innovative formulation and material technologies for DuPont’s industrial leading CMP Pad portfolio and drive fundamental understanding of product performance in target applications. The candidate will work in a cross functional team in partnership with Marketing, Process Development, Scale-up, Application, and Analytical Science to resolve a variety of CMP pad material and engineering related problems.Key responsibilities are:Develop innovative approaches to new material synthesis and processing to create novel polymeric materials with differentiated propertiesDevelop structure-property relationships with advanced knowledge of scientific principles, experimental design, and advanced characterizationLead new product development and identification of new technology areas for DuPont CMPT’s innovative pipelineCollaborate with technical groups in R&D and manufacturing to facilitate the scale-up and commercialization of new productsDocument work in a timely fashion in data books, internal reports, patent disclosures, and external publications as appropriateCommunicate results and progress to technical teams, management, and business leadership through written report and oral presentationsDemonstrate behaviors that exemplify DuPont’s Core Values: Safety and Health, Respect for People, Highest Ethical Behaviors, and Protecting the PlanetThis position has travel requirements of up to 10% globally.Required Qualifications:Ph.D. in Materials Science, Polymer Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or other related disciplinesStrong background in polymer technology with proven record in synthesis and material developmentDemonstrated ability to examine structure-property relationships of polymer formulationsStrong analytical and critical thinking with the ability to make data driven decisions and actionable recommendationsExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsStrong project management skills and ability to execute complex projects and navigate multiple priorities.Familiarity with a variety of analytical techniques, such as NMR, GPC, FT-IR, SEM, DMA, TGA, DSC, etc.Successful candidate should have strong collaborative R&D mindsetPreferred Qualifications:Minimum of 3 years product R&D experience with a successful customer engagement and product development record.
