Aviva Canada is looking for an insurance professional interested in joining the Reinsurance team within the Finance department. A successful candidate must have the following:
- Reinsurance placement experience in P&C field;
- Deep understanding of treaties, treaty wordings and treaty structures;
- Engage with senior collaborators to discuss our reinsurance strategy, related success factors and wider impact across the business;
- Expertise in insurance data and data architecture combined with the ability to identify improvements and lead the creation of automated processes;
- Demonstrate ability to work independently and collaboratively with other divisions and functions;
- Have the ability to innovate and embrace the Aviva values of Care, Commitment, Community and Confidence;
- Motivated individual who displays a strong dedication and responsibility towards business matters, while ensuring meticulous attention to detail;

What you'll do:
- Manage end-to-end placement actives reporting to VP of Reinsurance;
- Manage external ceded and assumed reinsurance placements;
- Liaise with CTU team and to collect and maintain data for reinsurance renewal;
- Analyze and reconcile data compared to prior submission, enhance data quality and find improvements in process;
- Manage reinsurance renewal checklist and timeline, including deliverables and sign-offs;
- Ensure reinsurance placement manual and business standard are followed;
- Liaise with reinsurance brokers, UK and local reinsurance team, claim, accounting and reporting;
- Treaty analysis;
- Review and analyze wording changes with legal, VP of reinsurance and RI broker;
- Post renewal work flow including DAF process, maintenance of reinsurance placement data/documents, documentation of reinsurance structure;
- Track facultative placements;
- Ability to pull data from internal databases and experience with policy and claim administrative systems (MINDs, Guidewire ect.);
- Analyze data and produce interactive visualizations to present to various business collaborators;
- Develop, improve and manage the reinsurance data pipelines;
- Build effective relationships with business partners.
What you'll bring:
- 5+ years reinsurance experience is a must;
- University degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Finance, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Accounting or other related fields;
- Programming skills are a plus;
- Good judgment, critical thinking and problem solving skills;
- Excellent Customer service skills complimented with sound communication skills.

- The salary band for this position ranges from $64,200 to $119,200. Please note that individual salary is determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience, as well as internal equity.
