The Global Head of Technical Training - Director, L&OD, is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive technical training strategy that aligns with the company's business goals. Is responsible for the design and implementation of Technical Training labs at UCT's flagship locations and developing technical training programs for other UCT locations. This role involves leading a global team to design, deliver, and evaluate technical training programs that enhance the skills and knowledge of UCT employees across all regions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical training, the semiconductor industry, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for continuous learning and development.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a global technical training strategy that supports the company's objectives and enhances employee performance.
  • Design and oversee the creation of technical training programs, including e-learning modules, workshops, and hands-on training sessions.
  • Lead and mentor a global team of technical trainers and instructional designers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Work closely with senior leadership, department heads, and subject matter experts to identify training needs and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Manage the technical training budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and maximizing ROI.
  • Implement metrics and evaluation processes to measure the effectiveness of training programs and make data-driven improvements.
  • Coordinate with local governmental workforce development organization to secure funding.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in technical training, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Semiconductor capital equipment manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Proficiency in instructional design and adult learning principles.
    • Experience with e-learning platforms and training technologies.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, global environment.

Education, Certifications, Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, the education field, or a related field.
  • A master's degree in engineering is preferred.
