Tidewater Community College has served South Hampton Roads - both students and employers - for 50 years. It has grown from 1 campus into a regional educational and economic force. TCC is the largest provider of higher education and workforce services in Hampton Roads, enrolling nearly 28,000 students in 2019-20. Founded in 1968 as a part of the Virginia Community College System, Tidewater Community College ( TCC ) services South Hampton Roads with 4 campuses in Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, and Virginia Beach, 7 regional centers and 2 important cultural institutions. The college had 3,203 graduates in 2019-2020, 40 percent of whom pursued degrees that would let them transfer to 4-year institutions. Of South Hampton Roads residents enrolled in higher education 36% enrolled at TCC . TCC’s institutional accreditation is affirmed through 2027 by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.

The Special Projects Facilitator will assist the Director of Facilities in project management for capital outlay projects, in-house non-capital outlay construction projects, FF&E installations, furniture & equipment moves, signage installations, and stage permitting assistance. This position will have the responsibility for recommending resolutions to issues, coordinating time sensitive projects and ensuring that all furniture & equipment moves are coordinated effectively and efficiently. Position will provide hands-on, detail-oriented leadership in managing the fast-paced activities for facilities projects.Special AssignmentsMay be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.KSA's/Required Qualifications

Ability to coordinate and manage complex duties related to capital outlay and non-capital outlay projects through hands-on, detail-oriented leadership.Ability to work well in a fast-paced, confidential environment.Ability to make decisions independently.Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with individuals at all levels within and outside the college.Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing, with internal and external constituents.Ability to synthesize large amounts of information from various sources and coordinate and produce specific reports and summaries.Ability to review various vendor, and third-party contracts and agreements for potential liability, compliance, and financial issues.Ability to perform an analysis of business processes and recommend modifications to improve efficiency and effectiveness.Ability to monitor assignments and facilitate timely completion so that deadlines are met.Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures.Ability to represent the Facilities Department in meetings with internal and external members of the community.Knowledge of PC environment with advanced skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail, and the use of the Internet.Demonstrated success in progressively responsible positions.Ability to plan, prioritize and coordinate both long term and day-to-day activities required for occupying multiple, in-process capital projects.Additional Considerations
