PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION:
The HR Manager will lead Human Resource Functions at R.W Zant LLC. and its Subsidiary (Commodity Sales, LLC/R-Dub Foods LLC) with support from the Director of Human Resources- Honor Foods. This role is responsible for partnering with functional leaders, front-line employees, and Supervisors to ensure the company's culture and performance align with company objectives. The HR Generalist job duties include employee relations, leading and supporting complex investigations, talent and performance management, and HR administration. This is an on-site position.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Handle confidential matters and perform support functions which require a broad and comprehensive knowledge of Company policy and procedures.Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human relations functions and ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.Manage the recruiting process, to include, but not limited to:Placement of advertisementPrescreening applicants and resumesScheduling of all interviewsConducting background, reference checks, and drug screensEnter all applicants into an applicant tracking softwareLead and facilitate the new hire orientation process for employees. Review the handbook and related policy documents with new employees. Ensure that the home department develops an orientation work schedule, and that the new employee experiences a positive onboarding experience.Work with supervisory and senior staff to create and maintain accurate job descriptions.Responsible for keeping HR policies current with California and Federal laws.Conduct sexual/anti-harassment and discrimination training for new employees and staff per California and Federal law.Conduct exit interviews with employees. Document results and share with leadership. Monitor trends and make recommendations for policy and cultural changes as appropriate.Maintain electronic personnel files and related documentation; respond to requests for employment verification.Administer the employee handbook, communicate changes/additions to employees, and distribute updated handbook information, as needed.Manage FMLA, ADA, personal leaves, and worker's compensation claims; maintain timely communication with employees and manage documentation, as required by applicable laws/regulations.Responsible for internal communications on HR and other matters.Responsible for the preparation and processing of payroll; review and ensure accuracy of time records, track and deduct all wage orders, and other special payroll deductions.Work with the R.W. Zant's Leadership team, along with the Director of Human Resources- Honor Foods to develop and implement a safety training plan.Foster a collaborative environment where employees and supervisors work together to educate staff on safety best practices, identify safety concerns before there is a problem, and consistently follow safety guidelines.Lead R.W Zant's Safety Committee, ensure compliance of safety programs/procedures; up to and including review of work injury/property damage accidents, accident/incident analysis, recommending new safety initiatives, health and safety auditing, and emergency response procedures.Coordinate logistics for HR events such as trainings, benefits, wellness events, and other various annual events.In collaboration with the Director of Human Resources- Honor Foods, ensure compliance of DOT related regulations for current class A & B drivers.The HR Generalist also performs a wide range of job duties as assigned and requested.REQUIREMENTS:BA degree required.Minimum 5-7 years Human Resources experience.Bilingual English and Spanish, required.Strong written and oral communication and organizational skills.Ability to communicate in written and oral English and Spanish correctly and effectively.Excellent computer skills.Ability to remain calm and focused while prioritizing requests from multiple sources.Ability to maintain and ensure confidentiality of team member and company information.Must be able to inspire, motivate, train, and coach others within the Human Resources function.Ability to effectively promote Burris culture and think strategically.Highly organized, proactive, goal-oriented, and approachable.Accuracy and attention to detail; comfortable with data and KPIs.Proficient in computer usage to include email, word processing, spreadsheets, including but not limited to Google suite.Knowledge of Human Resources and Payroll computer software and applications.Ability to accommodate flexible schedules to meet the needs of the customer to include overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.Ability to travel (minimal, less than 10%).Job Type: Full-timePay: $105,000 - $115,000 per yearR.W.
