Currently we are seeking a Vice President of Supply Chain to join our team and be an essential part of our manufacturing team. The Vice President of Supply Chain for our refuse truck manufacturing company will be a key strategic leader responsible for overseeing and optimizing the end-to-end supply chain processes. This role involves managing procurement, logistics, inventory, and supplier relationships to ensure a seamless and efficient flow of materials to support manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in supply chain leadership within a manufacturing environment, strong negotiation skills, and a proven track record in optimizing supply chain processes.

Your Role in Our Mission:

Develop and execute the overall supply chain strategy aligned with the company’s goals and objectives.

Collaborate with executive leadership to integrate supply chain plans with broader business strategies.

Lead procurement initiatives, including strategic sourcing, contract negotiations, and supplier relationship management.

Ensure the selection of reliable and cost-effective suppliers, promoting continuous improvement and innovation.

Oversee transportation, distribution, and logistics operations to optimize efficiency and reduce lead times.

Develop and implement transportation strategies to minimize costs and enhance delivery performance.

Establish and maintain effective inventory management processes to support production schedules while minimizing carrying costs.

Implement inventory control systems and strategies to ensure accurate and timely stock levels.

Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, fostering collaboration and ensuring a secure supply chain.

Evaluate supplier performance and implement strategies for improvement.

Identify and assess potential risks in the supply chain, developing and implementing mitigation strategies.

Ensure business continuity through effective risk management and contingency planning.

Analyze cost structures across the supply chain and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality and efficiency.

Drive continuous improvement in cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency.

Provide leadership and direction to the supply chain team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and high performance.

Mentor and develop team members, promoting professional growth and succession planning.

Evaluate and implement cutting-edge supply chain technologies to enhance visibility, efficiency, and responsiveness.

Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements to ensure the company remains at the forefront of supply chain management practices.

To Perform this Job Successfully:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree is preferred.

Proven experience (10 years) in supply chain leadership roles, preferably in manufacturing or heavy equipment industries.

Strong strategic thinking and planning skills with a demonstrated ability to align supply chain initiatives with overall business goals.

Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.

In-dept knowledge of supply chain processes, logistics, and procurement best practices.

Exceptional leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence and drive change at all organizational levels.
