Senior Automation Manager - Oil & Gas/ Heavy Industry SectorsThe Manager, Automation will lead the efforts for the company with the opportunity to grow a team to current business needs and strategize for future growth. This role involves managing a team of electrical engineers and technicians, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and optimizing the performance of electrical infrastructure. You will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of electrical systems and power distribution networks within the organization. This person will lead and provide multidisciplinary support, project coordination and general expertise regarding instrumentation, PLCs as well as SCADA. Compensation commensurate with experience. This role will report directly to the COO/President.Essential Job Requirements:Team Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of electrical engineers and technicians.Manage the daily activities of the power and electrical team, including work assignments, performance evaluations, and professional development.Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.Project Management:
Oversee the design, planning, and execution of electrical projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards.Coordinate with other departments, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resources.Collaborate with project teams to understand requirements and provide automation expertise.Electrical System Management:
Ensure the reliability and efficiency of electrical systems and power distribution networks.Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve electrical issues in a timely manner.Implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend the life of electrical equipment.Perform final acceptance testing/checkouts - point to point checkout of electrical and control systems.Automation and Technical Expertise:
Provide technical guidance and support to the electrical team and other departments.Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulations.Lead the evaluation and implementation of new technologies and systems.Design and develop open architecture automation systems using PLCs.Develop and implement projects using Ignition SCADA for monitoring and control.Create loop check documentation and facility hand-off documentation.Lead efforts to carry out FATs and SATs.Establish historian in SCADA and assimilate the data acquired to trend equipment performance.Provide field support to determine system malfunctions and apply corrective actions.Add end devices and associated communications to existing systems.Provide services to upgrade PLC systems.Generate scope, interface and engage with vendor community to implement new SCADA systems.If this role suits your background and experience please reach out directly to Ed Yardley (edward.yardley@gryphonoakwood.com) for a confidential conversation.
