Electrical Power Engineer (LV/MV) - Oil & Gas/ Heavy Industry Sectors
Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage complex electrical power engineering projects with minimal oversight,
demonstrating strong leadership and technical acumen.
• Develop, review, and approve critical electrical power engineering deliverables, including:
o One Line Diagrams
o Electrical Load Lists
o Equipment Specifications and Data Sheets (Transformers, Switchgears, etc.)
o Design of MCC, Switchgear, and Power Distribution Systems
o Cable Sizing & Routing
o Earthing and Lightning Protection System Designs
o Electrical Layout Plans (Substation Layout, Cable Tray Layout, etc.)
o Hazardous Area Classifications and Selection of Ex-Rated Equipment
o Power Systems Studies (Load Flow, Short Circuit, Motor Starting, Harmonic
Analysis)
o Relay Coordination Studies and Settings
• Participate in critical studies and reviews like HAZOP, LOPA, and other risk assessments.
• Oversee the preparation, evaluation, and management of electrical requisition
documentation, technical bid evaluations, and vendor document reviews.
• Direct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) for complex
electrical systems.
• Conduct and supervise comprehensive field surveys to document and assess existing
conditions.
• Provide expert collaboration with project teams, clients, and suppliers to resolve complex
technical electrical power challenges.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.• Minimum 7-10 years of relevant experience in the oil & gas industry.
• Eligibility to work in the United States (US Citizen or Green Card holder).
• PE Registration, or the ability to obtain it within 12 months, preferred.
Hard Skills:
• Extensive experience in electrical power engineering, with a strong focus on LV and MV
systems.
• Deep understanding and practical application of industry codes and standards.
• Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting wiring, fiber optics, and power design on-site.
• Proficiency in SKM, ETAP, or similar electrical engineering simulation software.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
