Senior ITS Traffic Engineer

to join our ITS Traffic Engineering team in

AtkinsRéalis has the depth and breadth of expertise to respond to the most technically challenging and time-critical infrastructure projects and the urgent transition to a low-carbon economy.How will you contribute to the team?Perform ITS/Traffic Engineering and design assignments of a varied nature, including experience or familiarity with some of the following transportation technology: Traffic Detection Systems, Traffic Signals, Transit Signal Priority, Adaptive Signal Control, Communications Networks, Lighting, Signing and Pavement Markings, and Safety-based solutions.Develop drawings for traffic signals, signing and pavement markings, traffic control, lighting, and ITS for transportation projects.Develop technical documents for complex, technology-based systems – technical specifications, modified special provisions, and more.Review project submittals, including conceptual, preliminary, and final ITS, Signalization, and SPM plans.Record review comments and confirm compliance to comments with responses and subsequent submittals.Participate in quality control checks, maintaining quality standards in all work produced, checking computations, and/or reviewing designs and drawings performed by others.Coordinate with other disciplines as required. Perform field observations of construction where appropriate.Assist in performing post-design oversight such as shop drawing reviews and construction requests for information.Perform basic project functions of production coordination, planning, organizing, and marketing assistance.Contribute expertise in advanced concepts and techniques to solve unconventional problems.Ensure work produced is technically accurate and delivered in accordance with the appropriate standards.Strong communication and leadership skills necessary for client-facing role as technical expert and mentor.What will you contribute?B.S. or M.S. in Engineering. M.S. or graduate level technical coursework preferred.This level may be achieved by Engineers with four (4) years of experience since B.S. or three (3) years since M.S.P.E. license is required.Technical writing, computer, and communications skills required.Computer Aided Design (AutoCAD or MicroStation) experience required. Microstation / OpenRoads Designer experience preferred.Experience in use of traffic engineering software such as HCS, Synchro / Sim-Traffic, Vissim, TransModeler, Sidra preferred.Experience with Bluebeam Revu preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft Office products required.What we offer at AtkinsRéalis:AtkinsRéalis realizes that health, mental, and financial wellbeing are all equally needed to achieve balance in life.
