Please note there is the potential for one or more of these FTEs to shift to part-time depending on candidate preference.Essential Functions - ClinicalAssists the Program Chair in the organization, administration, continuous and periodic review, planning, development, and general effectiveness of the program
Assists the DDE and DCE in the preparation of administrative reports as requested and assigned by the Program ChairAssists in development, review, and revision of the mission statement, programmatic goals, andcompetencies as neededParticipates in the design, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of the curriculumCourse Director for assigned coursesAssists the DDE in the coordination and scheduling of all didactic courses and classesReviews and suggests revisions as needed for the Student Handbook annuallySchedules and assists with student remediation as neededAssists in the interview and selection of faculty membersProvides for the continuous review and update of all didactic course materials and learning objectivesProvides security for all course and examination materialsAssists the DDE with the maintenance and coordination of the didactic schedule with the Administrative AssistantProvides assistance with the ongoing assessment and review of the didactic curriculum each semesterReviews instruments for student and faculty course evaluationsAssists in other duties as assigned by the Program ChairAttends all scheduled staff and faculty meetingsAssists DDE with coordination and assessment of the function of all adjunct facultyTeaches courses with which he/she has demonstrated competence and/or experienceAssists the DDE with coordination of curricular modules and schedulingAssists the DCE with coordination, site visits, and maintenance of clinical sitesAssists the DCE with end of rotation exams and "Call Back" DaysAssist primary faculty member responsible for the Master's ProjectProvides assistance with overall program review, assessment, and facilitation of compliance with Accreditation standardsEssential Functions - StudentsProvides and facilitates counseling for studentsReviews didactic/academic performance with students as neededProvides remediation for students with sub-standard performance as neededAdvises the Program Chair of any problems related to student behavior, academic performance, or professionalismMember of the Admissions and Student Progression committeesUpholds values and mission of Clarkson University and the Clarkson PA ProgramQualifications
Minimum ExperienceNCCPA certified Physician Assistant or Board certified allopathic or osteopathic physicianNew York State PA registration/license (or eligible) or MD / DO licensed or eligible for licensure in New York StateConsideration given to non-clinicians with strong science / health science background who possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degreeConsideration given to Nurse Practitioners that either have an active license or are eligible for licensure in New York StatePA/MD/NP: 2 years of clinical experiencePreferred ExperienceGreater than 5 years of clinical experienceTeaching experience; preferably in a PA program, Medical School, or NP programFor PAs, doctoral degree or Master's with willingness to enter and complete a doctoral program
